Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet many communities in Nigeria continue to suffer from water scarcity. At Imole Network Foundation, we believe no one should have to travel miles for safe drinking water. In line with this, we embarked on a life-changing water project for the communities of Imeri and Idoani in Ose Local Government, Ondo State.
The people of Imeri and Idoani have long faced challenges accessing safe, potable water. Residents often had to depend on unreliable sources—streams, shallow wells, or purchased water—many of which were not safe for drinking or domestic use.
In response to this urgent need, Imole Network Foundation initiated a clean water project focused on drilling and installing functional borehole systems in both communities. These boreholes were carefully planned and executed with sustainable infrastructure to ensure long-term impact.
The full scope of the project included:
Hydrological surveys to identify optimal water access points
Drilling and construction of high-yield boreholes in both towns
Installation of overhead storage tanks for efficient distribution
Solar-powered pumping systems to guarantee constant water flow
Construction of water collection points easily accessible to residents
This project was dedicated to improving the quality of life through access to clean water—a basic need that enhances health, sanitation, and economic well-being.
Since the boreholes were completed, both Imeri and Idoani have witnessed a dramatic improvement in hygiene practices, reduced waterborne illnesses, and increased productivity, especially among women and children who previously spent hours fetching water.
To us, this is more than a water project; it is a commitment to dignity, health, and empowerment. It is a symbol of hope, of community transformation, and of Imole Network Foundation’s unwavering dedication to reaching the underserved.
